G is for...

Firstly apologies for the delay in my letter of the week, series of posts, what with birthdays, holidays & days out we have been so busy! To start off the Letter G, we went on a Nature Walk searching for Green things, more details here.

We made Green jelly & also had a chocolate fondue with Green Grapes
which I will post about soon.

Both boys have been spending lots of time in the Garden, Daniel (3) is loving playing football (in his unique way) with the new Goal he got for his birthday.

Joseph made some elastic band Guitars, details here.

At a toddler group we drew around a flat wooden giraffe, then coloured him in, we also printed off a couple of colouring sheets & used our dot markers (ELC easy painters) to 'paint' them.

Whilst at Legoland (post to follow) we spotted this amazing Giraffe, which had a moving head!

We have also been Growing & Gardening:

Celery stalk & Carrot Top
Joseph re-homing some snails, from my pots to a nearby hedge.

Planting some sunflower seeds (lets hope they do better than last year!)

Elastic Band Guitars

Joseph (4.5) asked to make an elastic band guitar, after seeing the idea on cbeebies. They used a tissue box but as we didn't have one we raided the recycling box.

I wrote a G on the cheese triangle box to reinforce G for guitar. Joseph was able to stretch most of the elastic bands on himself, only asking for help on a couple of the tighter ones.

Daniel didn't want to join in so Joseph made 2 so that they could each play with them. The cardboard one soon collapsed, however the black plastic tub is still going strong a few days later.

Green Nature Walk

As part of our letter G activities, we went on a Green nature walk, I'd originally seen this idea on pintrest, but once again can't locate it! We only went on a short walk to our local (tiny) park.

We used wide masking tape to make a bracelet, sticky side out. We then went on a search for anything green, that we could collect & stick on the tape. They are both fond of picking flowers etc & collecting things, so this was a great way for them to do this & for me not to end up holding it all!

We had a play at the park, then headed back home collecting more on the way..
