Shape Bath

After our other fun baths & especially when the boys managed to make a robot during our Christmas bath, I decided to use up all the offcuts of craft foam, so that the boys could make their own pictures/creations. We used the offcuts from other baths, our Easter bonnets & from a couple of foam  baskets the boys made at an Easter craft event.

The boys ended up making a row of houses with grass, but also enjoyed collecting & pouring the shapes from jugs.
They also used the shapes for some body art!
We will save these for another bath or 2 then might use for some cut & stick!
We are now back form our holiday & my baby is now 3. So keep a look out for some posts on his party & our holiday.

Snow In March - Fun Bath

I can't believe that spring is just around the corner & we are busy preparing for Easter & we have SNOW! Snow in March is practically unheard of in the UK (especially the south) its almost as crazy as our BBQ & paddling pool in October a couple of years ago.
The boys were disappointed that we didn't get enough snow to go sledging or build a snowman this time. So we decided to have a snowman fun bath instead.
I made some basic snowmen using craft foam & stuck on some eyes. Joseph (4) decided that the carrot noeses were party hats & soon after made a sun using the arms as sun rays. I didn't get many pictures as the boys were splashing lots & I fired for my camera!
They both really love fun baths & they ask for them all the time. Its a great way to let them be creative & makes a real change from regular bath toys.

Christmas Fun Bath

After being inspired by the Christmas week over on Bath Activities For Kids, I decided to have ago at our first fun bath. I bought a large (a3) sheet of green craft foam from a local stationary shop  & then used some other bits I already had. I managed to cut both trees from the large sheet. I also had some plastic silver spots that I picked up from the Children's Scrapstore a while ago, its a great charity that provides a wide selection of items to groups that can be recycled to use for crafting & occasionally offer outreach programs to the public.

I found the cute Christmas ducks 4 for £1 in a charity shop.

I also used green food colouring in the water, this is the effect a whole bottle had! I wish I had chosen the red as at least that wouldn't have looked like wee! As other bloggers have reported it didn't stain the kids, the bath or the tiles, however our clear bath mats are now a funny shade of pale green! Please use food colouring with caution.

I set the bath up for the boys Daddy was supposed to be distracting them downstairs but that didn't last long! By the time I had finished they were so excited & were banging on the door to see.

They had lots of fun in the bath, decorating the trees, the presents, seeing if it would stick to them.

Using a tree as a surf board for a duck!
This as the final display, including a robot :-) It was a huge success I expect we will repeat it several times in the lead up to Christmas & will be trying out some other bath ideas in the new year.
